Our work is supported by volunteers and we are very grateful for the support they give us. Our volunteers play an essential role before, during and after each cookery session. It’s a busy time, with plenty of preparations behind the scenes – weighing and measuring ingredients and setting out equipment. During the lessons our volunteers help the cookery leader stay organised and provide extra support to those who need it. And of course there’s always plenty of washing up to be done!
If you would like to volunteer some of your time at Chequers Kitchen Cookery School we would be delighted to hear from you. You don’t have to be a skilled cook, anyone can come along and be a general volunteer (and maybe pick up a few tips!).
However, from time-to-time we need cookery leaders to step in (usually planned). So if you’re a retired home economics teacher, or a professional/retired cook or you have expertise in a specific type of cooking e.g bread making or baking, you might like to lead a class in your specialist area. The choice would be entirely yours. Either way we would love to hear from you.
